Synopsis : Flapping from genre to genre,"Mr. Butterfly" is a wildly uneven melodrama centered on a potentially interesting subject, South Korea's prison-cum-boot camp, Samchung Revival Camp, introduced by the military junta in the '80s. But first-time helmer Marc Kim hasn't the skill to manage the story's tonal shifts or rein in his mugging thesps.
